Dr. Ro has been on the professional speaking circuit since 1987. She has a powerful message for women and youth because of her own personal life experiences. Her passion, excellence, and messages regarding "The Power of Being Spirit Filled" have stimulated the minds, hearts, and actions of men, women, and youth to cope with adversity and create success in their personal, professional, and spiritual lives. She has inspired, encouraged, and empowered others with the spoken word at countless events throughout the nation. Her outreach has been heard nationally in churches, schools, conferences, college campuses, youth adjudicated facilities, and other alternative recovery settings.

Dr. Ro is the daughter of the late Mr. Charles L. Gilbert and Ms. Clara S. Gilbert. While growing up in the city of Monroe, Louisiana, Rochelle's God-fearing parents told her about a Big God who was concerned about everything that concerned her. In childlike faith, she believed her parents' words and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior around the age of six. That event has shaped her life and her pursuits: to know God intimately, to accomplish His will for her life, and to pursue excellence in all her endeavors.

Dr. Ro is humbled and grateful to God for the many opportunities He has presented for her to be of service to His Kingdom, and is committed to pressing forward in increasing stewardship and faith, giving Him all honor, praise, and glory for the things He chooses to do through her life and ministry.

Dr. Ro has blazed an impressive trail of academic and professional achievement. She has been recognized for her leadership skills and her commitment to quality education for all children. She has officially been on the educational circuit for 11 years, in the teaching and administrative capacity, but her family says that she has been teaching since she has been talking. As an educational consultant and an inspirational speaker, she believes when "God places His purposes for life in your heart, and you surrender to His will for your life; your goals will be accomplished, despite the odds."

Dr. Ro received her undergraduate and masters degrees from Northeast Louisiana University. Her inexhaustible thirst for knowledge led her to continue her graduate work thus earning a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Louisiana Monroe through the Louisiana Education Consortium including Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University.

Many awards and recognition have been bestowed upon Dr. Ro. She has been nominated as Disney's Teacher of the Year, named as Outstanding Young Woman of America, and Who's Who in American Education. Dr. Ro has been honored with the Minerva Award of Educational Excellence for her commitment to education as well as the Lady of Distinction by for her exemplary example of Finer Womanhood in the Church, Community, Sorority, and Professional Realms of her life.

Despite her professional achievements, Dr. Ro's passion remains God's Word and effectively communicating its relevancy in the 21st century to women's groups, churches, organizations, her Sunday School Classes, and anyone who will listen. She is under a mandate to challenge others to hunger and thirst after a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit which can lead them to an undeniable understanding of themselves. Her commitment is so strong that her major focus is helping young girls and women who need "someone with skin on" to help them realize their full potential.

Dr. Ro is the President of THERO Initiatives, LLC and Founder of Fortitude Enterprises, Inc., a non-profit organization focusing on helping women reach their full potential in life.

Dr. RO realizes that all she is and ever hopes to be, she owes it all to GOD; "TO GOD BE THE GLORY!" Therefore, if anybody should ask you who she is, don't try to remember the degrees she has earned, the schools she has attended, nor the awards she has received, but if they truly want to know who she is, she recommends that you "Just Tell 'Em I'm A Child of God!"
